The war was won, but not over. The dust had yet to settle and it cast ominous shadows on the ruins of what was left. Even a year after Harry Potter had defeated Voldemort, some people were still wondering if it was a dream, or rather a nightmare. Could he really be gone? The horrors he had brought on the Wizarding world wouldn't be soon forgotten and those who were wizened by war knew that the threat still loomed in those shadows. Voldemort may have perished, but his followers had not. Most were dead, lifeless as the puppets he made them out to be, others were missing. Few had been caught and dealt with due to the Ministry being thrown into chaos, but that was changing. The Wizarding world was slowly rebuilding, and through the haze of uncertainty and fear hope is beginning to creep in at the edges. Of course the ministry is still on edge and as Hogwarts, which seems to be at the center of everything, rebuilds they are taking precautions. As the first new year begins at Hogwarts after the most devastating battle most of the Wizarding world has seen these precautions take the physical form of a Ministry appointed Deputy Headmaster and extensive wards. The damage is not yet fully repaired from the battle and it leaves the castle and it's patrons vulnerable to the dangers still lurking outside it's walls. The Ministry is trying to keep things hushed up, but the downfall of Voldemort hasn't brought about the peace the world was hoping for. Muggles and known Muggleborn's are tuning up missing or dead mysteriously. There is still chaos everywhere you look, still looting and crime brought about by the attacks from Voldemort and his followers. Some of his most well known, unaccounted for, simple vanished. The possibility of a threat inside however, has not gone unnoticed. There is uncertainty and unease concerning the loyalty of some students, namely Slytherin. Under more intense scrutiny still are the children of known and suspected death eaters and others they associate closely with. With the school and those inside it's walls still regaining composure after the attacks, all should be wary of those around them. Despite all the threats around them though, Hogwarts is open for another year, in a time when it is needed most. Though some changes can be noted due to reconstruction, everything will be back as it was in time. Now is the time to rebuild and band together to protect our home away from home and extended family. In these uncertain times, no path is clear. Will you unite with others in a common goal, will you stand idly by and watch the chaos continue, or will you be a part of the continued undoing that began with Voldemort?

It’s funny how things work out in the end; you just have to make damn sure it really is the end and not the beginning.
It seemed like a long time ago, the destruction of Sunnydale. In fact, It had only been a year. Amazing, right? Hard lessons and time have taught me that nothing, and I mean nothing, is ever that easy. I suspect demons were there to help. Someone who wanted Sunnydale back must have made a dirty deal, possibly selling a soul or two, or maybe even their own to get that kind of construction up and going that fast. But there it was; all squeaky new. Already, people were flocking to the fully loaded-cheap as hell (no pun intended) homes. Didn’t people ever learn? Great homes, granite counter tops, half acre lots, all the amenities, for one low price! The fact that it’s on a Hellmouth, well, that never quite makes the cut on those glossy real estate brochures. I’m sure they knew that something was out of place, but all they saw were the two car garages. Still. It had been ground zero. As much as the gang wanted someone else to go, I knew it had to be me.
I had a slayer’s intuition about these things. Giles had big plans overseas. He was talking about making command central in Germany or someplace like that; a castle where potentials would go to train; a new team of slayers with leaders, a hub of communications, witches... The whole sha-bang. I knew he would see it through. Only one small change; I wanted it here. On the new Sunnydale.
So here I was, signing my own agreement on a shanty house in the outskirts of town. Why would anyone pay that kind of money on a piece of crap was beyond the real estate agent. I knew that’s what she was thinking, but we had plans for this place. Big plans. It was going to be Command Central. With a little help and a lot of money, this place was going to protect us from everything; the government, evil, even ourselves. Top Secret, much?
Which brings me back to the end, or the beginning. Whatever it is, it’s going to be hard. It’s going to hurt and it’s going to be complicated. We’re going to get through it though, if we’re together.

Academy of the Elements is a boarding school for Gifted children (or elementals) born with the power to manipulate one of the five elements: Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, or Thunder. It is located in the mountains of British Columbia, Canada. Children are accepted into the Academy at age fourteen and have the option of staying for college after graduation four years later.
The plot is very player-driven--there is nothing set in stone; rather, the actions and influences of the members and their characters work to manipulate what will happen in the months to come. We offer a friendly community and a small literacy requirement for those that like to understand what they're reading and replying to. The word count is only TWO HUNDRED MINIMUM, it isn't hard to keep up with!

 These are dark times and Lord Voldemort is extending his power over more and more of the Wizarding World. Hogwarts is under the control of known Death Eater Severus Snape and the Ministry is being run by another known Death Eater Lucius Malfoy. A new Ministry Department has been created to control Magical Education and the all major Magical establishments have Death Eaters working within them. It appears that nowhere is safe from the attack of Voldemort. Harry Potter is still missing but there are rumours he is still alive and seeking the power to Lord Voldemort's downfall. Meanwhile there have been reports of several attacks on members of the Order of the Phoenix, the outcome of which are unknown as yet. It is time for the side of good to fight back against the tyrannical force that seeks to destroy everything we hold dear. The Wizarding Community is being asked to stand up and fight, fight in the name of Albus Dumbledore, Minerva McGonagall and Harry Potter, fight for freedom, justice and to rid the world of the evil that seek to take it from them. Will good triumph over evil?
